![]() ![]() But the ability to look at a mobile app when you're out and about that tells you how much money you have remaining in your budget for each category is essential to not blowing said budget. ![]() YNAB uses Dropbox for cloud syncing it was fairly painless for my wife and I to set up our individual laptops and phones to point to a single Dropbox folder containing our data.Īlthough I see the logic in their budgeting module, I did find it somewhat complex, and it took me a while before I "got it". This is huge for us-when my wife was using Quicken, she would quickly get behind logging transactions, which meant that they wouldn't get done for months at a time, which kind of defeats the purpose of personal finance/budget software. There is a free mobile app (iPhone, Android) that allows you to log transactions on the spot. And there are lots of resources on the website for using a budget to get a grip on your finances. As the name implies, the software is really focused on the budget aspect of personal finance. We've been using it since the beginning of the year, and I really like it. I'll cast a vote for You Need A Budget (YNAB).
